My t-shirt was bought back in summer when George Michael was alive and well and nobody knew that the image below of him in his 80s version (the one my teenage self coveted) would soon become such a fitting tribute.
Now, every time I wear it, I am reminded of this photo and the legend that is George Michael, or Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou to use his real name.
Firstly, I can't help but be reminded of how well Greek skin, goes with white t-shirts compared to my white, freckly Yorkshire tones... Perhaps I should have gone for black?
But I'm also reminded of thousands of refugees, also with names I can't pronounce. Men, women and children caught up in a global crisis through no fault of their own, who so desperately need us all to choose love so that they can choose life.
£19 is a great price for a good quality basic white t-shirt that goes with absolutely everything. But I think you will agree that it's a brilliant price for an item of clothing that will not only spark a compliment from someone younger and cooler than yourself, but will also spark hope for refugees.
Choose Life, Choose Love, Choose a t-shirt. It all seems very straight forward to me.
Happy weekend all. It's peak time for resolutions to hit the wall so stay strong won't you? Fact: A new sweater always helps.
Love Claire xx
